Battling forest fires at Los Alamos ...

            WHY I'VE BEEN SLOW: BATTLING THE INFERNO AT LOS ALAMOS
	    ======================================================

	In recent months, I've been slow to ship stuff.  The reason is
that I've been busy smoke-jumping to put out the blazing inferno at Los
Alamos, just 150 miles from Gallup.  My job has been to protect the nukes
at "the lab," where the nukes have been stacked on pallets outdoors under
the pine trees ...

What a great excuse that would be ... if it were true!  Actually, we are
upwind from the forest fire and the air in Gallup is pure, not a whiff of
smoke at all.

My excuse of the past month has been that I've been writing a paper for a
college conference to be held at Ruidoso, 320 miles away, May
14-17th.  But yesterday, due to a separate forest fire at Ruidoso, that
conference has been postponed!  This will give me a three week period
until June 8th to get backorders finished and shipped.  I will serve on
jury duty and teach two summer classes, but I expect that all backorders
will get shipped prior to June 8th.   Thanks for waiting!
