Actually, all versions of Netscape I know about have a Java VM compiled into
the binary, though this may be different for WIndows versions (and is
definitely not the case for Mozilla, which basically runs Java as another
plugin using the Open Java Interface). Also, the kernel support for java in
Linux just lets the kernel execute Java .class files as if they were actual
binaries; the kernel doesn't include a VM, and it calls the JDK (which you
have to have installed) to actually do the dirty work.
