Very sorry to hear that.  Water can be such an insidious thing.

I don't even want to think about the floppy disks. Lots of them are
ruined and many more may be difficult to use due to getting moisture in
their lining.

Data on the floppies will a least be salvageable.  They can go through
a jacket snip, wipe with alcohol, dry, and re-insert into a new donor
jacket for a final reading.

I've never done it, but yes, if the floppies were valuable, I'd certainly try that process. Unless there are hubs made of paper, I can't imagine anything on the actual disks being damaged by water, so cleaning them up and putting them in new jackets should keep them readable.
