I had one of these; nice drive.  Things to try: Take out the drive and
shake it slightly; stuck head?  try it on a different slot (set 4 to
your card and put it there?
make sure the master/slave jumper (plastic thingy on the card end of
the drive) didn't come off and is set propperly.
Curse in Arabic?
