All of mine do this. Some take 5-10 sec. to actually reset and boot the computer. Some require a few power-cycles to work properly. Zip Chips are unbelievably flaky in my experience.

It kept on saying ERR in random TEXT garbage, so I changed out
80 column card (meg80z) for RWIII.

I run self text on zip system check.

page2 signal skipped
aux language skipped
aux 48k skipped
mrd/80st signal  skipped


everything else finished


Is this normal?

I've never seen what you describe here.  Does sound like something might be "off".
