Well maybe yes and maybe no. The Apple Color Composite monitors sold
here (Australia)
Are multisystem, ie. they display both NTSC and PAL pictures, since the
original
or beige //e had (faulty) PAL output, but the platinum //e is NTSC the
world over.

Presuming you went for a platinum //e (highly recommended, the platinum
offers
several advantages with color display over the older PAL //e) you'd be
fine,
but you'd need a voltage convertor for the US monitor, or you'd have to
change
the power supply.
