Paul, Paul, Paul, what European arrogance. I hope you intended to add a
smiley face. Otherwise you have insulted the millions of free people who
live in Canada. By your logic, you aren't a Swede, you're a
Scandinavian.

No, they want to be called Canadians. Who are you to tell them they have
to be called Americans?

Oh? It used to be the United States of Europe?? Someone needs to teach
you the history of the last sixty years. Especially from the point where
Sweden stood on the sidelines of the war against Hitler, while making
money from it.

Being of Norwegian descent, I can understand not wanting to be part of a
union with Sweden :)

That's what the word "IF" means in English. The parallel was between the
United States of America, and a mythical United States of Europe.

No one in America speaks American. The overwhelming majority of us speak
English. Ditto for Canada. Certainly not BBC English, but those of us
living on this continent can usually make ourselves understood when
speaking to someone from the British isles.
The monolingual Spanish minority isn't nearly as large as you imply.

Oh yeah, I can see people in Georgia, Mississippi, Alabama, etc. loving
that one. Only someone with gross ignorance of this country would
suggest that one. I was born and raised in the Philadelphia suburbs of
Pennsylvania, and we all knew that Yankees lived only in New England and
in the House that Ruth built.

Thank you for making my point. Canadians live in Canada, Mexicans in
Mexico, and Americans in the United States of America. What's so hard
about that??

You haven't been to Wales or Scotland much have you? Though Welsh still
exists, and Scottish Gaelic, English is still the dominant language in
those lands. And again, you've missed the point, Scots are Scots, not
English, and Canadians are Canadians, not Americans, even though we have
a common language (well, except for Quebec) and common (european)
cultural roots.

Oh, great, insult Mexicans as well as Canadians. I guess Hitler was
wrong, Americans are the master race; we can brainwash two great
peoples, but only Swedes are free of our powerful mind warping powers.
It must be the blonde hair. :)
