Yes, I think I *did* do that while I was investigating the OS. 
However, I followed your advice and downloaded another 6.0.1 System
disk from Apples FTP site, and I still have the same problem. Is there
a possibility that I wrote something to ROM? I wouldn't think so, but
I'm in the newbie stage with my GSII.
I thought a new system file, or a disk without the Prodos folder,
would resolve the issue, but it hasn't. Any other recommendations?
