IDE CD-ROM?

I'm about to acquire my first Apple IIgs! :-) Of course, I'm planning on
adding more memory and a hard disk. I have found many IDE cards for the
GS, which leads me to my question: Can I use an external IDE CD-ROM with
such a card? Some of the cards I have been looking at are Alltech
Electronics' FocusDrive ZERO and ///SHH Systeme's MicroDrive IDE Card.
Does anyone here know if these will let me attach and control an IDE
CD-ROM drive?

A side note . . . when I was young, I begged and begged for a GS. Now,
years later, that dream is being realized! I want to thank everyone who
has been supporting and developing for this computer for so long. I'm
very excited about the possibilities of my new machine!
