Re: Apple II Reference Manual ("Red Book")

To Roy Miller (and everybody else in the Apple II community):

Your post makes good sense Roy. Perhaps, I should have sued many people in the
apple II community who have spread so much unfounded and unproven
misinformation and gossip about me over the past several years. Then I'd have
control over my reputation. However, as I'm not a commercial part of the Apple
II community and simply a hobbyist, what they have said and spread concerning
me in the past, present and in the future really doesn't concern me.

We all see things as we want to see them and nobody or no amount of
efforts by others can change that fact. I gave up trying to do that long ago
and do everything I do now in the Apple II community to assist others that
need and want help - in the best way I can offer it to them.

I try to avoid causing harm to people in general and expect people to show the
same towards me. It's clear I expect to much.

I'm not a politician running for office nor am I trying to win any popularity
status in the Apple II community. I have many people that like me and
appreciate what I try to offer them in the way of help. I have many people in
the Apple II community that hate my guts and wish I were dead too.

Sadly - such is existence in general on planet Earth - in this day and age with
almost anybody that populates it. I can deal with it. Life is wonderful and
I'm happy with everything as it is in my life now.

In closing, I have confirmed that Nathan Mates still lives in California and
DOES NOT work for the company under discussion in New York. I have no desire
to bother that company in any way either.

Sure Nathan did a lot in the Apple II community. He generated a lot of hate
with his actions also and left the Apple II community filled with nothing but
hate for all of the Apple II community and it's users also,
with the final actions of an insane and irate child. I can't respect such
qualities in an individual when most of his hate was aimed directly at me,
purely based on gossip and misinformation he obsorbed from others.

FWIW, I payed Nathan Mates his VERY FIRST shareware fee for a disk of his
software that he programmed and was selling in person up and down the isles at
an AppleEXPO West - here in San Francisco, CA. years ago. He was thrilled and
thanked me very much for that too. That's the one and only time I ever
encountered Nathan Mates in person and at that time admired him very much.

At this point in time however - when I call Nathan Mates 'Nothin Mates'
that's exactly how I feel about him in every way. He destroyed any respect or
admiration I ever had for his Apple II efforts with the mountain of hate he
generated towards me over the past several years
in private and in public. Such qualities as hate (as you should well know)
only come back to haunt and destroy the person that generates hate in the end.

I don't hate anybody or anything on this Earth. I pity a lot of it and dislike
a lot it - but, I don't hate it.

Cheers (and Best Wishes),
Tom
