You can do this with SAM too.  You see, as a IIGS
program, Spectrum/SAM can use data files on HFS
volumes and HFS volumes do not have the 16MB file
limit that ProDOS has.

You can verify this yourself by loading a huge text
file from a CD-ROM into a IIGS word processor
that supports load in segments from disk.

That's a good reason, though.  However, depending
on the price of SAM, it might be interesting for
people.

I know I used ProTERM for a long time to check
email even after I had a PC and a PC email program.
The only reason I stoppoed was because I lost my
shell account.  With SAM, a IIGS user does not
NEED a shell account to access email on the IIGS.
