Re: Super GS

In GS mode, the Kegs emulator speed remains pretty stable running
a variety of applications. The emulator stats window even shows
both the cpu speed and the actual emulation speed. Surprisingly,
the emulator speed looses it's consistency when run in 8 bit mode.
This is probably true for a real GS due to the speed switching
involved in emulating the 8 bit Apple II. As far as I can tell
from running a variety of applications, Kegs is very accurate in
emulating all the GS hardware.

There are other factors involved in emulator speeds. On my older
200mhz Cyrix system, the text mode has problems with scrolling
displays in any video mode other than the 8 bit color mode. On my
300mhz Pentium laptop, this was not as noticeable and on my newer
500mhz AMD system is virtually nonexistent. However, the 200mhz
system still offered a reasonable emulator speed. The point is,
the hardware the emulator executes on is a very big factor.
