Although not hardware based but, rather software based via Internet
connection to a central site - by development and porting of the TAOS
multi-platform OS compiler (to be ported and for the IIgs )- such an OS as the
'TAOS' could in theory make a virtual IIgs 'Super GS' with such a NEW OS for
it as the 'TAOS' - that would be compatible with all past 8-bit and 16-bit
software - adding the ability of development with IIgs software for both 32 or
even 64-bit -> even 128-bit (all of course would be software based with a port
of the TAOS compiler to the IIgs for use as such and would be virtual in nature
- as are the existing IIgs emulators for the various platforms that currently
exist).
I had a nice html page about this all - with links to the TAOS development web
site and their contact information, availability and such for the port of their
TAOS compiler for such efforts to the IIgs - in the GSWV area of my web site
for several years, but nobody showed any interest in it and I removed it after
several complaints and picky public protestings from several developers in the
IIgs community and also from our past FAQ's keeper Nathan Mates, who claimed it
was an insane and impossible thing to even have available for public view and
was nothing more than confusing data and pure misinformation.
I guess, concerning the TAOS - currently that would be up to the individual so
inclined to research and decide that now on their own.
Cheers,
