Are you saying you have an SCSI card in the IIGS but no
SCSI drive and wait 15 or 20 seconds before the IIGS
continues to boot the floppy drive?

This is normal because the OS detects the SCSI card and
scans the SCSI chain for any device. The SCSI card polls
the chain for this long to make sure before abandoning the
boot.

You can deactivate the SCSI card by changing its slot from
'Your Card' to the alternate function in the control panel.

However, if you do have an SCSI card, I recommend getting
an old SCSI hard drive and installing GS/OS instead of just
using ProDOS.
