About a year of experience in the field has taught me that a very large number
of people do not know what to do with patching programs, or even how to copy
changed files, letting the new file replace the old. They don't understand that
00 doesn't come after 99, and a myriad of problems of other sorts. They want
the finished product, ready to go.
Still, having the old files available is better than the way it is now, and
good luck to whomever is doing it. However, I have always felt that AppleWorks
5 should be released only to the one person in the world (R.B.) who is
qualified to develop it further and give us a new version. I'm fairly sure that
if given the opportunity, that would happen.
