There was a freeware CCP replacement for CP/M though, ZCPR, which
used these user areas to implement what looked like subdirectories.
Basically in ZCPR you could give each of those 255 user areas a name
instead of just a number.  The ZCPR "subdirectories" were only
one level deep though, so there was little point in implementing a
"cd .."-like command.
