I'm not sure why you would be having problems with SDK or SHK files.
They can both be unpacked on your Apple II using ShrinkIt or GSHK
(although GSHK can't upacked DOS 3.3 5.25" SDKs).

Just download them to your PC, transfer them to your Apple II and
unpack them.
