I had one of those.  It is to be used with the CP/M software (the most recent
one I've used, about 9 or 10 years ago, was version 2.2 IIRC).  It uses a
different disk format but if you put a disk inside your boot drive it just boots
to CP/M if it finds the card and tells you that you don't have the correct CPU
if you don't have the card.  Last I used it the card must be installed in slot 4
(taken by my mockingboard) or slot 5 to be recognized.

And no, you cannot PR# it because it has no code associated at $CX00.
