To clear away ambiguity, I guess you are trying to use the dos33.dmp
file which is included in dos33dmp.zip (available from Ground at
ftp://ground.ecn.uiowa.edu/apple2/upl2000/Mar/ ).

Using dos33dmp.zip is discussed in detail in the included info file. It
is also discussed in GS WorldView March 2000. (Go to
http://www.grin.net/~cturley/gsezine/GS.WorldView/v2000/Mar/index.html
and click on "Transfer DOS3.3".)

The most reliable way to transfer the file is likely to be at 300 baud
using HyperTerm with the recommended settings.

One possible problem which may be screwing up everything is an incorrect
jumper setting on your controller card.

As you suggest, the "3.2" and "3.3" options almost certainly refer to
setting your controller for DOS 3.2 or DOS 3.3. What is in ROM is the
starting boot code. (Our Disk ][ controller does not have any jumpers. To go
from DOS 3.2 to DOS 3.3 you had to swap in new ROMs. Evidently, your card has
ROM code for both DOS 3.2 and DOS 3.3.)

Since DOS 3.2 is a 13-sector DOS and DOS 3.3 is a 16-sector DOS, getting
the right setting is important. You want to set the jumper for the "3.3"
option. Scootching up and resocketing each socketed IC is a good idea, too.
Plus, you want the card to be installed in Slot 6. Once this is done,
retransfer dos33.dmp and give it another try.
