SSC and a GS

Question:
  With a SSC in slot 2...and slot 2 set to "your card" in control panel,
can a GS in effect use 2 serial controllers on a single slot/port?  I
know I can mount a Focus drive in slot 4 and STILL use the mouse (at
least, still use it in GS specific SW, I haven't tried MouseWrite or the
like) by simply specifying Your Card for 4.   Just curious if this
situation is similar in other slots/card to port combos.... Unidisk 3.5
card in 5, I/O in 6, + drives on the floppy port?....
Grappler in 1 + printer on 1?
