I am not an Apple II collector, or even a computer collector. I'm just
someone who has fond memories of growing up with an Apple. (I also
still have a Laser 128EX boxed up in the closet. And I happen to
collect old video games, but I digress....)
I have gotten a lead on a guy with a large lot of Apple hardware stored
in a warehouse. He says he has IIe, IIc, and even some Mac Classic
systems. He also has some monochrome monitors, disk drives, and
printers. I thought it would be nice to have a genuine Apple since I've
found a few things my Laser won't run. For $30 I can get a IIe, disk
drive, and monitor. For $50 I can get two sets. For $300 I can get the
lot of IIe stuff (20-25 systems, monitors, and drives).
Naturally, if I bought them all I'd resell most of them, probably on
eBay. Would I manage to break even? I hate to see them neglected, but
I don't exactly have $300 just lying around either. Oh, and he's
offered to let me see the warehouse to check them out. Advice?
