    second-hand, for $435.00 and that was a good deal at the time.
    A bit under 2 yrs later, I got my first SupraModem 2400, new,
    for $285. I just got a 56K internal, new, for $89. The problem
    with being near the top end of my hobby, since 1985; is that
    I have to be very, very careful around a wife that is fed-up
    with all the money I've `wasted' (her words!) over the last
    15 yrs. If I add up all I've spent on my IIe (for example);
    it's about $4,500 and I'd be lucky to get $45 for it now
    (not that I'll _ever_ give up my IIe - it's what started me
    on my computer journey and it will always hold a special spot
    in my heart). Anyway - sorry for the digression; it's just
    seeing the modem I got so long ago, going for a dollar. I
    have to laugh, or I'd go nuts over what I've spent on my
    hobby in the last decade and a half. Oh well - C'est la vie!
