I can't see how it's possible. It has to draw power from the slot lines. The power
leads from the CPU socket aren't likely enough. There are other reason's that
I don't know, but the card was designed to be in a slot. The length of the cable
limits it to be used from slot 3 or 4.
Besides, how would you keep the card stable. The cable and the connector isn't
that fantastic to begin with. That and a card with exposed edge connectors might
short out on something. What do you have in your GS that you think you can't do
without?
