16-Bit Math on 8-Bit Numbers, the Conclusion (was Re: 16-Bit Math on 8-Bit Numbers [HPLOT in Machine Language, Part II])
Thanks for all of the replies. I knew it was something obvious.
I picked one out, compiled it along with the rest of my code, and it worked!
Now I just need to build a custom output routine and an Applesoft
interface to it. Does Applesoft's FRMNUM subroutine (at location DD67)
stop calculating formulas when it reaches a comma?
I would like to do something like CALL 16599,(31-3),VAL(X$)+X+21,333-X
(assuming the Applesoft interface routine starts at 16599, (31-3) is a
horizontal coordinate, VAL(X$)+X+21 is a vertical coordinate, and 333-X is
a character number for a font).
I'm thinking of calling $DEBE to skip over the first comma, calling $DD67
to put the next number in the FAC, converting the FAC to an integer,
storing the integer at some memory location, calling $DEBE to skip over
the second comma, calling $DD67 to put the next number in the FAC, and so
on.
