It'll work, after all the card was made for LCs. You may find the performance
a tad lacking though since the card's performance varies according to the
speed of the Mac. I have one in my Color Classic, which originally had the
same 16 MHz '030 with crippled 16 bit bus as an LC II. I swapped in an LC520
logic board which has a 25 MHz '030 and 32 bit bus. That about doubled the
box's speed. With the card set to 2 MHz mode, the swap made //e software go 
from not that much faster than a real //e to nearly as fast as on a IIgs.
