The space I was referring to is the 3.5" form factor, but even if you look
at disk surface area, it's still a phenomenal improvement, though less than
2,000 X. If the difference is 1 platter vs 5, divide the 2,000 by 5. 400X is
still pretty amazing.
What does the 8,000 rpm have to do with it?
