Newbie to Apple IIe

Hello;
I am a newbie to this list. I purchased an Apple Ie from Goodwill last
week and went back today and found the Floppy Drives for it. There is a
5 1/4 and a smaller drive. It works. I bought a floppy at another
Goodwill that was from "A+DISK" and has a lot of software on it. I have
an old Apple somewhere in the Basement and I can't find the floppys. I
haven't work with Apple for nine years and my Memory is a little rusty.
Can anyone give me some of the very basic commands. When I turn on the
machine it loads the Drectory/Catalog but I can't get it to do anything
else.  I even have some Manuals but I've got to locate them also. I
started 30 years ago with a Datapoint then graduated to CP/m then to
??XX PC's XX??. now it seems I'm going back to my childhood
