I don't know exactly, but apparently the 1977 version is for Applesoft as opposed to Applesoft II.  Applesoft initially was available only on cassette tape.  The tape version was freely copied back in the day, so I can't imagine that there were many copies of that manual made.   I'm not sure, but I think there probably were multiple versions released on tape as Apple worked to get to the final version which was burned in ROM and initially called Applesoft II.  If I remember right, the Blue Book was initially distributed or shipped to Applesoft firmware card customers, until the later manuals came out.
