I have a few of them. Some came with the hardware that plugs into that box.
Basically a large board with touch sensitive sqares about 1 sqare inch each.
Gave someone with muscle tremors or coordination dificulties a large target.
I haven't looked at them in years but I seem to recall that the sqares could
be
programed to various functions. To say much more I'd have to dig out the
manuals and software
