HELP-Beyond Castle Wolfenstein-how use dagger (change weapons)?

I'm playing old games again (obviously receding) - "Beyond Castle
Wolfenstein" on the good old IIc. ALAS... I desperately need to knife
this nazi to death, have a dagger, but have no idea anymore how to
actually use it. Anyone remeber this? (ofcourse, if you have a link to
an online file which explains how to turn off the alarm etc. I'd be
equally appreciative)
