In my news reader Pim's post is listed as a reply to Patrick's post
and in Pim's posted the first line was "Patrick Schfer schreef:" and
the only other person quoted in Pim's reply was SuperTimer so I'm
pretty confident he was talking to Patrick and not to you. :-)

I believe David Empson has pointed this out a number of times in the
past. Apple's documentation only differentiates between hardware
versions. There is the "Apple IIgs" (ROM 00 and ROM 01) and the "1 MB
Apple IIgs" (ROM 3).
I think they only differentiate between a ROM 00 and a ROM 01 by
saying "Apple IIgs with original ROM" for the ROM 00 and just "Apple
IIgs" for the ROM 01 but I'm not 100% sure on that.
However, it has become common practice and is far easier to refer to
the machines by their ROM version. Whether you put the leading zero
in or not doesn't make any difference to me.
The only reason it became a point of contention is because the power
on splash screen for the ROM 01 shows "ROM Version 01" and for the ROM
3 it shows "ROM Version 3". Please note that instead of a leading
zero, the ROM 3 puts a second space. I think it is kind of silly
worrying about how you type it. Especially as everyone knows what you
are talking about. :-)
