or, some special environments (e.g. a desktop OS) might support a screen
saver.

     It seems doubtful that a general use screen saver could work on a IIe
without adding hardware. A lot of IIe stuff expects to grab total control of
the system and would wipe out and/or disconnect any screen saver you might
install.
