In the olden days, everything was expensive. I paid $2000 for a 386-25 back
in 1990, and thought I was getting a lot of bang for my buck. Now look what
you can get for half that.

However, I don't know why you think the "average cost STARTS at 250 bucks"
for A2 boards. What A2 boards are you buying that cost that much? The most
expensive board I've bought for my A2's is a Rev. C SCSI card, which cost
$60 including shipping. I just picked up a High Speed SCSI card along with
the rest of a IIgs case for $5 at Goodwill. A month or two ago, it was a
Vulcan hard disk and card, and 1.5 meg RAM card with IIgs case, for the same
$5. True, if you want something rare and want it now, it might cost you.
Personally, I enjoy the thrill of the hunt.
