I feel I must say something in defense of Alltech. Alltech is
honest and they always send the stuff one orders from them. It
is true however, that they can at times be slow. It might be due
to the fact that the components for some of their Apple II products
are not readily available. I am not making excuses for them and
in fact I should probably modify my IIGS Tour message to caution
users to have Alltech ship by regular UPS rather than rush.
In the Apple II world, Alltech is top notch. Compared to what
Sequential used to be, Alltech would get a 10 and Sequential
a 1 (1 to 10 scale with 1 being the worst). In the mail order
business overall, they'd probably get an 8 or 7.
Sometimes slow yet honest and dependable would probably
best describe Alltech.
Give them a chance and you'll see how well designed and
constructed Alltech hardware is. Ask anyone with a Sirius
or Focus card.
One user emailed me that after finding out his Focus needed
an extra delay in his IIGS, he emailed Tony Diaz and Tony
sent out a new EPROM in the mail for him. Thus, rather
than sending back the card, the user could keep using the
Focus while he waited for the modification.
