    I only just learned of the sad news moments ago. Although 
I've never met Ryan in person, reading those words are like a 
kick in the stomach. I'm just completely shocked and saddened
right now.

    I got to know Ryan over the years on IRC and Delphi A2 
chat (heh I even seem to remember him giving it to me over a 
live video feed chat from Kfest, telling me to get myself over 
there already instead of just dreaming about it) :). And of course
like many of us, I knew him in a sense through his writings as editor 
of GEnieLamp A2, A2 News & Notes and in later years his audio 
podcasts. Not to mention all the discussions we had right here 
on comp.sys.apple2 and Delphi back in the day.

    It's sad to lose yet another person in our small community with 
such a shared passion for the Apple II. And just sad to to think
in general, he's gone. My deepest condolences to his family and 
close friends. He'll be missed.
