I had heard people say the other way around, that S-video isn't up to snuff
for doing ADB. My theory is that if the pinout is right and the wiring
will conduct, that's all it takes. So for example, instead of buying a $60
Monster component video cable, I use a $10 set of RCAs from Rack Shack and
it works great.
