Also, newer Macs such as iMacs that have floppy drive options
have floppy drives that cannot format GCR encoded 800k
floppies. Disks made on these Macs cannot be read on the
IIGS. Even older Macs that had built in compatible drives will
often format a IIGS disk that is not quite right. Most often with
a boot block that will not "catch" resulting in an Unable to Load
ProDOS message.
If you have a newer Mac such as iMac, you can't make IIGS
boot disks for IIGS units with standard Apple 3.5 drives.
If you have an older Mac that can write IIGS disks properly
and it does not, keep trying. You may need to extract it from
the diskcopy archives a few times for the disks to write
properly.
Finally, DO NOT use 1.44MB HD 3.5 disks. The data does
not stick to these. For some people, it sticks for days. For
others, months. For many, it simply does not stick at all
resulting in an Unable to Load ProDOS message.
