I think the experience is different for me because, I
started out in May 1984 with a //c. I remember all the
efforts I had to go through to get software, hardware
support etc... It was even more difficult since I live
in the country and everything was a long distance
commute.

I remember once I ordered the Laser's Imagewriter
compatible printer and had to drive 60+ miles just to
get a cable to connect it to the computer.

For the first year or so, I was only able to get a
few books from the local library. Mostly Dos 3.3. The
dealer we bought from did not have a clue. Later I
found out about some of the magazines and finally got
a chance to do some real learning.
