Interesting, and lots of work!

I remember the Compuserve days, where I'd log in with my TI-99,
download the GIF image of the weather map, and simply open it in a GIF
viewer to see it...

And I'd download the weather advisories, which back then were in text
format. Now they are text format on a web page (at least at
weather.com), and badly formatted at that...

I used to have my speech synthesizer read them to me. Sounded better
than what they use on the weather radios these days!
