True.  ;-)

When using large, detailed photos, it's best to have both a small
scaled version for "inlining" in text and sidebars, and then a large
version that is linked to when the small picture is clicked.

(Of course, in most cases, there is no real need for both a "normal"
scale photo and a large one.)
