     You are welcome.

Unfortunately, newsgroups which fail to react to spamming end up like
comp.sys.apple.gno-- i.e. they are bombarded with grossly off-topic messages
hyping everything from get-rich-scams through roller garage doors and sex
pages. The newsgroup becomes impossible to read and users leave. If you check
comp.sys.apple2.gno you will discover that virtually all recent messages are
spam.

The purpose of posting brief spam info messages is to make it easier for
readers to send abuse messages to ISP's. ISP's do not like to get spam
complaints-- so, the more users who send in an abuse message, the more likely
the spammer is to get booted. Unless a spammer is especially stupid, he/she
will learn to avoid Apple II newsgroups.

Since we are talking about killing spammers, it may be helpful to review
the abuse complaint process:

1. Set your browser to show the full header.

2. Copy the header part of the spam message.

3. Select "Reply to sender"

4. Paste the header at the top of your reply.

5. Add a simple statement just before the header-- something like "msg. posted
to an Apple II computer newsgroup"

6. Erase the address shown in the "to" part of the email and replace it with
the "abuse@" address. If more than one abuse@ address seems likely, add these.

7. Send the email.
