Alltech forgot to email you. They've got the parts. Not
only that, their prices have gone down dramatically.
The 500MB and 700MB range models are each less
expensive than they were before. Contact them again.
Several csa2 readers have reported getting their back
ordered Focus drives and new orders seem to be
processed promptly.

Alltech SHOULD ship to the UK. I know they ship to
Canada.

http://www.allelec.com/ Alltech's Focus drive is the way to
go. You could even order the card without disk and get
a laptop hard disk for it locally, but the models with drives
are more attractive because they include the operating
system and a library of freeware and shareware.

Alternatively, you can get a similar controller card from
a company in Germany called ///SHH Systeme. I do
not have their address, but run the name through the
search engines to find their web site. The newer
version of their MicroDrive controller is just like Alltech's
Focus card. For the MicroDrive, get it without the
hard disk and add your own laptop drive. It is an
internal IDE hardcard like the Focus, but it comes
from Europe. This might facilitate shipping.
