Answer:

LaserWriters have two inputs, AppleTalk and serial.  These
may or may not run off the same port.  The cable is the
problem.  You need to find one that can fit the LaserWriter
serial port.  Find a IIe to ImageWriter II cable.  Connect a
gender changer to the IIe end (and maybe a 25-pin to 9-pin
PC serial adapter to the gender changer).  Plug that into
one of the PC comm ports. Plug the ImageWriter II end
into the LaserWriter's serial port.  In Windows, select a
generic Postscript driver (or LaserWriter specific driver if
available).

IIe and PC 25-pin serial connectors are the same but
different gender.

It should work.

A Macintosh to modem cable plugged in reversed to
connect a PC comm port to a LaserWriter will NOT work.
Wiring of a modem cable is different.
