If it is a Sony Trinotron tube inside the monitor, then those are
normal, and are the support wires that hold the shadow mask.

Look at the monitor closely with a magnifying glass, and if the three
colour shadow mask consists of verticals strips the entire height of the
screen, it is a Trintron tube. If they are round, or short rectangular
strips, then it is not a Trinitron, and you should be mildly worried! :)
