Okay, I am not crazy. I checked it and you CAN use Shrinkit on the IIgs to
shrink HFS disks.
Here is how I checked it:
First I made a HFS disk using GSOS.
Then I used Shrinkit to create a disk image.
Finally I used Shrinkit to make a new disk from the image.
Results:
The original disk is identical to the second disk. IIgs recognizes
them both as HFS volumes with identical names!
Okay, why did you do this?
I need system disks for the Mac SE with 800k drives. It was also a
challenge.
The point?
Could someone be so kind as to create disk images of the four 800k
disks for the Mac of system 6.0.8?
This will provide a way for not only me, but other crazies attempting
this bizaar, but fun project.
How could someone do this?
I do not know if there is a way to make a Shrinkit image on the Mac.
However, if someone has a IIgs and the Mac system 6.0.8 disks then they
only need to run Shrinkit to make the images. I know I am asking for time,
but I will make them available on my website for anyone else who needs
them. Thanks.
