I'm surprised that version 4.3 refused 00 because it shouldn't have. Please try
it again. Version 3.0 is as expected, but it has other problems that you might
want to get fixed. All earlier versions (2.1 and earlier) will need to be
patched or updated in order to start up.

forum, tech exchange (posted by me, for the information of Apple II users who
might stumble in there).
