Re: No-Slot Clock
According to Glen Bredon, this is caused by a bug in ProDos. I have tested it
with a large number of programs and their so-called Y2K "problems," and he is
absolutely right. Fixing ProDos to kick they year into 2000 (instead of 1900)
is the solution in many (but not all) cases of Y2K wierdness. Instead of
treating the symptoms, we can now treat the cause.
I believe this is significant, and I would enjoy some generalized discussion
on what to do about ProDos now.
I looked at my code and see no hard code, so it must be the problem is ProDOS,
I believe I'm running one of the latest versions. I noticed that on my ProTERM
on the //e there is no date at all. I looked at a newer version of the
software, but really don't want to deal with that as I'm afread it would do
more damage. I'm sure someone out there must have done a fix to the ProDOS
file. With the exception of the BBS nothing else is done of the //e. I may just
move it over to one of my IIgs's, I looked at it today and ProTerm seems to be
ok there, at least as far as the date.
