I really don't want to blindly start spraying control cleaner in if there's
a better approach.

If control cleaner is recommended, do I try to pry off the keycaps (risks
breaking things on a 30 year old computer) or just aim between them?

I think that spraying contact cleaner or 90% isopropyl alcohol would
be a fine approach, followed by working the key(s) while wet.

It may take a second, lighter application to clear up any lubricant that
finds its way to the contacts.

<sigh..> No luck. I tried alcohol based flux remover, then some lubricating contact cleaner. Still sticks.

Does the keyboard assembly come apart to get access inside the keyswitches?
