You don't need an unshrinker with the disk images downloaded from the
official Apple system software site. The disk images there can be handled by
the Mac utility DiskCopy, which you can also download from Apple or
elsewhere on the net. It puts the disk images right onto ProDos disks, ready
to use.
There is a complicated procedure in the faq for getting Shrinkit going by
starting with BINSCII as a text BASIC file, and using that to extract
Shrinkit, but the easy way is to buy a disk with all that on it. I think
someone here sells that for like $5, which is a LOT easier than doing it
yourself. Unless you enjoy the challenge, of course.
I normally download files on my PC, then use a null-modem cable to transfer
them to my IIgs. Since the IIgs uses mini-DIN connectors, I use the same
null modem cable for it that I use to connect to my Macs. For software, I
use Agate, an Apple II com program available in the archives, because it has
Zmodem.
