The simple solution would seem to be using the System 6.0.1 diskettes to
create an AppleTalk boot disk.  This is the local, not remote, boot diskette.
(System 6.0.1 is available on Apple's FTP site.)  You will need System 7.x
or later with Personal FileShare enabled on one of your Macintoshes.

The physical connections are exactly the same as (serial) AppleTalk between
Macintoshes (direct serial connection, PhoneNet, FastNet, etc.).
